New-car sales in Monroe County continue to outpace 2013 sales, Rochester Automobile Dealers’ Association Inc. reported.

Area dealers sold 4,034 new vehicles last month, down nearly 15 percent from 4,730 in May, but up nearly 2 percent from 3,958 a year ago. RADA historical data shows new-car sales typically fall from May to June.

Monroe County auto dealers have sold 23,324 new cars this year, compared with 21,737 in the first half of 2013, an increase of more than 7 percent.
