Amerks extend contract to practice at Bill Gray's Regional Iceplex

The Rochester Americans have extended their agreement with Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex as the American Hockey League team’s practice facility, officials announced this week.

The Amerks will use the Iceplex for practices other than those at Blue Cross Arena at the War Memorial, and will spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to upgrade their team locker room at the Brighton facility, officials said.

The 170,000-square-foot Iceplex, on the Monroe Community College campus, has four National Hockey League-size rinks as well as food and retail outlets.

Iceplex owner and manager End 2 End Sports spent $1 million earlier this year to renovate and upgrade the facility it purchased in April 2013.
