ITT unveils $22 million expansion at Goulds Pumps

ITT Corp. unveiled its $22 million expansion at its Goulds Pumps’ operation in Seneca Falls on Monday.

The new production facility in Seneca County, part of the $27 million expansion originally announced in November 2012, is operational. Company leaders, as well as state and local officials attended a ceremony there.

The new building totals 89,000 square feet, including office space, with roughly 79,000 square feet dedicated to product operations. The project created 50 jobs at the facility, which employs more than 800.

The company this year also completed an expansion of its Norman G. Gould Technical Center on its Seneca Falls campus, which houses its product engineering and research and development staff.

ITT, which is based in White Plains, Westchester County, acquired Goulds Pumps in May 1997 in a $37-a-share friendly takeover, melding Goulds into its own fluid-technology group. That October, the firm moved Goulds' corporate headquarters from Fairport, where it had been for three years, back to its original location in Seneca Falls and branded the division Industrial Process.

ITT Goulds Pumps manufactures pumps for a wide range of industrial markets, including oil and gas, mining, chemical, energy, pulp and paper, and general industry.
