Unither US Corp., a developer and manufacturer of pharmaceuticals, is planning a $15.7 million expansion of its facility in Henrietta and will add 22 workers, officials said Wednesday.

Unither US, a subsidiary of Unither Pharmaceuticals in France, produces syrups, capsules and tablet medications on a contractual basis at 755 Jefferson Rd. It employs 262.

The expansion includes new equipment, a build-out of existing space, and staffing and training for new manufacturing processes, officials said.

“Unither is proud to be operating in Upstate New York, where we will offer the improved safety and convenience of single-unit dose medications to the largest pharma market in the world,” said Kevin Haehl, Unither’s general manager for North America, in a statement.

The company will receive up to $542,666 in Excelsior Job Program tax credits through the Empire State Development Corp. as a result of its job creation, officials said.
