Rochester’s newest downtown hotel has its general manager in place, with an October opening scheduled, officials said Monday.

Kevin Rosdahl, previously general manager of the Homewood Suites by Hilton in Greece, will oversee operations at the Hilton Garden Inn under construction on East Main Street. He is a graduate of Monroe Community College with an associate’s degree in hotel technology, officials said.

“Based on Rosdahl’s outstanding record in hotel management, we are confident that he will be instrumental in ensuring the success of this new Hilton Garden Inn,” Edward Pavente, vice president of operations for hotel manager Emerald Hospitality Associates Inc. in Ohio, said in a statement.

The hotel will have 106 rooms and three meeting rooms with 3,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, officials said.
