Farm-based manufacturing of alcoholic beverages in New York has doubled since 2011, and the total number of manufacturers has grown 105 percent, officials say.

Some 57 new farm breweries have opened across the state since New York’s farm brewery law was implemented in January 2013, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced this week.

In addition, the state is home to 104 microbreweries, compared with 40 in 2011. Restaurant brewpubs have increased to 33 from 10 in 2011.

Farm wineries have grown by 49 percent to 291, from 195 in 2011, officials said.

Wineries have increased by 50 percent to 78 from 52 three years ago.

New York has 29 farm manufacturers of hard cider, compared to five in 2011.

Farm distilleries have grown to 55 from 10 in 2011.

“The craft beverage industry is one of New York’s greatest success stories,” Cuomo said in a statement released Monday, “and we are doing everything we can in state government to keep the tremendous growth seen by our wineries, breweries, cideries and distilleries going strong.”
