ESDC grant to be used toward East Rochester office renovation

A state grant of up to $200,000 will help East Rochester pay for the $8 million renovation of a former Xerox Corp. building to government offices, officials announced.

The 67,000-square foot Eyer Building is the new home for consolidated municipal offices and departments, including court, library and senior center. Work began in June 2013 and was completed this June, a statement released Wednesday by the Empire State Development Corp. said.

The 100-year-old structure had been vacant since 2003, officials said.

The $200,000 grant was part of $20.4 million approved Wednesday by the ESDC board of directors for 30 projects statewide.
