Honorees picked for achievement in health care

Twenty-four honorees—22 individuals and two organizations—have been selected as recipients of the Rochester Business Journal’s 2015 Health Care Achievement Awards. This year’s group is the 13th to receive the awards.

The Health Care Achievement Awards are to be presented March 24 during a luncheon at the Hyatt Regency Rochester. The event recognizes individuals and groups whose contributions to health care have been deemed outstanding by their colleagues, patients and supervisors.

Award nominations were made by community members, who supplied biographies, testimonials and other supporting information. Individuals and groups were eligible for consideration in eight categories: innovation, management, medical professional, nurse, physician, senior care, special needs and volunteer.

The honorees for 2015 are:

 Carestream Health, for its Care-stream Touch Ultrasound System
 Brian Justice D.C., medical director for Excellus BlueCross BlueShield’s Pathway Development and Spine Program
 Rochester Regional Health System, for the Hill Haven Home Hemodialysis Program

 Jacqueline Beckerman, senior director of patient experience, University of Rochester Medical Center
 Thomas Caprio M.D., medical director, Visiting Nurse Service of Rochester
 John D’Souza M.D., vice president of medical operations, ACM Medical Laboratory
