RGRTA to increase public transit in busy area

Rochester Business Journal
June 30, 2015

Rochester Genesee Regional Transportation Authority is increasing public transit in one of its busiest areas and is inviting the community to an information session to discuss the changes on Wednesday.

RGRTA said Tuesday that expanding development and changing demographics have prompted a demand for increased public transit in the area around Rochester’s southeast quadrant and Mt. Hope Avenue and the University of Rochester Medical Center corridor.

The redesigned route will provide increased service to new Henrietta retail, residential and healthcare complexes, including Clinton Crossings, while maintaining current service through South Clinton Avenue and Goodman Street.

The changes will take place Aug. 31, RGRTA officials said.

The information session is at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the transit center.
