Rochester Business Journal
September 21, 2016

The Rochester Business Journal’s second annual Women’s Leadership Summit drew more than 600  participants to the Joseph A. Floreano Riverside Convention Center Wednesday.

The event’s keynote speaker was Amy Franko, founder and president of Impact Instruction Group, a firm focused on designing leadership and strategic selling programs. Franko has previously worked with firms like IBM Corp. and Lenovo Group Ltd.

Franko stressed four skillsets to improve leadership: reframing lists, cultivating resilience, seeing time as an investment and learning agility.

The summit was divided into two sessions of workshops and panel discussions covering a variety of topics, including “Ask Better Questions, Get Better Outcomes,” “Dealing with Difficult Team Members,” “Hints from C-Suite Executives,” “Civic Involvement: How to Move from Volunteer to Board Member” and “Get More! Negotiation Skills for Women.”

The event was presented by the Rochester Business Journal and the Women’s Leadership Council of United Way of Greater Rochester.
