The number of film submissions for the 360 | 365 George Eastman House Film Festival has doubled from the past year, festival organizers said Thursday.
The festival drew more than 300 submissions as the entry period ended, and among the few already selected are the Oscar-nominated animated film “The Secret of Kells” and Michael Caine project “Harry Brown.”
“We’re thrilled with the number of films we have received from around the world for this year’s festival,” said Linda Moroney, managing director. “We are now spending countless hours watching and selecting the highest quality films that will appeal to the wide variety of audiences in Rochester.”
The six-day festival, May 5 through 10, will include screenings of features films, documentaries, shorts and children’s and young adult programs, as well as master classes and panel discussions in the Eastman House Curtis Theatre. It will feature contemporary American independent and international cinema, with a portion focusing on the achievements of women in filmmaking.
