The company founded and run by the 2011 Rochester Business Person of the Year has been sold to Symantec Corp., the California-based provider of computer security software best known for its Norton products.

Odyssey Software Inc. and Symantec completed the deal March 2. Mark Gentile, who founded Odyssey in 1996, said Symantec preferred not to disclose the purchase price.

Gentile said all of Odyssey’s 39 employees will remain at what will be a Symantec office at the Lennox Tech Enterprise Center in Henrietta.
