Two Rochester projects have been selected by the Preservation League of New York State to receive its Excellence in Historic Preservation Award.

The awards promote special achievements in honoring New York’s architectural heritage.

The Rochester projects honored include the Eastman School of Music’s $46.9 million renovation and expansion project of the Eastman Theatre, including renovations to the Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre and the addition of a building for teaching and performing, completed in 2010.

The other project honored is the Annex the Mills at High Falls, a $7.5 million residential project that revitalized five adjacent buildings in the High Falls District on State Street.

The two Rochester projects are among eight in New York receiving 2012 Project Excellence Awards. The awards are to be presented May 16 at the New York Yacht Club in New York City.
