Auction Direct touts record sales in Q1

Auction Direct USA LLC has set an internal sales record for the quarter, across its four East Coast locations, officials announced Tuesday.

The used-car auction house recorded its highest-ever sales volume in its superstores in Victor, Ontario County; Clarence, Erie County; Raleigh, N.C.; and Jacksonville, Fla. Company officials said the sales reflect a 10 percent increase over sales a year ago. The company did not disclose its revenue figures.

“We’re proud that so many people are choosing to purchase their used vehicles from us,” CEO John Iannone said.

The company plans to expand with a new store this fall in Pittsburgh.

Auction Direct was started in 2005, and in 2009 led the Rochester Business Alliance Inc.’s list of Rochester’s Top 100 fastest-growing privately held companies. The company employs nearly 300 people in its four locations.
