Harris RF to provide radios to Latin American country

Rochester Business Journal
July 19, 2012

Harris Corp.’s RF Communications division in Henrietta has received a $5 million order to provide a Latin American country’s armed forces with tactical communications for drug interdiction, anti-terrorism and illegal immigration missions.

The radios will be integrated into a system that delivers video from the battlefield to command personnel in real time, the company said. The identity of the country was not disclosed.

“Harris’ Falcon family of radios will provide the system with combat-proven voice and data communications,’’ said Brendan O’Connell, president of RF Communications’ International Business unit, in a statement. “This in turn will lead to enhanced real-time situational awareness and command and control and, ultimately, greater success on the battlefield.’’
