Xerox lands contract for Nevada health insurance exchange

Xerox Corp. has landed a $72 million contract with Nevada to design and implement the state’s health insurance exchange.

Under the agreement, Xerox will supply an online portal for individuals and small businesses to compare and purchase health plans.

In addition to developing and operating the Web portal and online selection tool for health care coverage plans, Xerox also will manage a customer contact center to share information with participants about the price and quality of health services, officials said.

“The exchange we’re designing in Nevada uses proven solutions from the commercial marketplace and will create a more consumer-friendly experience, similar to comparison shopping that is so common with other online purchases,” said Will Saunders, group president of Xerox’s government healthcare solutions, in a statement.
