First Niagara Financial Group Inc. has named Lena Prohaska as regional banking director for Rochester and Central New York, the Buffalo-based company announced Wednesday.

Prohaska will lead First Niagara’s retail branch network from Rochester to Utica and Rome to the east, and to Binghamton to the southeast.

Prohaska has 27 years of retail banking experience, First Niagara officials said. She previously was the small business leader for First Niagara in Western New York.

Prohaska plans to move to the Rochester area next summer.
