Rochester Business Journal
November 14, 2012

New and used car sales in Monroe County fell from September to October, but continued to outpace sales a year ago, the Rochester Automobile Dealers’ Association Inc. reported.

Some 3,159 new vehicles were sold in October, a nearly 13 percent decline from 3,627 in September, but relatively flat from 3,150 in October 2011. Area dealers sold 2,012 used cars and trucks last month, up nearly 8 percent from 1,869 in September and nearly 4 percent from 1,939 a year ago.

New car sales typically fall from September to October, RADA historical data shows.

Monroe County auto dealers sold 5,171 new and used vehicles in October, compared with 5,496 in September and 5,089 in October 2011. Some 55,243 vehicles have been sold in the area since January, up 5 percent from 52,613 in the same time period last year.
