Channel 13's Alhart extends contract

WHAM-TV 13 said its anchor and associate news director Don Alhart has agreed to a new multi-year contract extension.

Terms of the extension were not disclosed.

“When you think of news in Rochester, you think of Don Alhart,” said Chuck Samuels, general manager at WHAM-TV, in a statement. “We are thrilled to let the viewers know he will be behind the anchor desk for years to come.”

Alhart has worked at the station for nearly 50 years. He has won several Edward R. Murrow awards for broadcast journalism and was inducted into the New York State Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 2010.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to continue to pursue my lifelong desire to communicate and be involved in such a wonderful community,” said Alhart, in a statement. “I am blessed to work with a talented team of experience broadcast professionals.”
