LaserMax hires former IEC president as COO

LaserMax Inc. has named Jeffrey Schlarbaum to the newly created position of chief operating officer, effective immediately.

Schlarbaum most recent served as president of Newark, Wayne County-based IEC Electronics Corp.

In his new role, Schlarbaum is responsible for LaserMax’s sales, marketing, operations and supply chain organizations, the company said Friday.

“LaserMax is poised to embark upon a rapid growth phase and I have every confidence in Jeff’s ability to effectively lead that charge,” said Susan Houde-Walter, LaserMax CEO, in a statement. “He is a seasoned leader with an extensive track record of delivering impressive results and we are delighted to have someone of his caliber onboard.”

LaserMax ranked 14th on the most recent Rochester Business Journal list of optics and imaging firms. The company designs and manufacturers high-tech laser diode modules.
