The E. Philip Saunders College of Business at Rochester Institute of Technology will now be known simply as the Saunders College of Business, as a result of a new strategic plan and branding initiative.

The college is named for Philip Saunders, owner of Saunders Management Co. and founder of TravelCenters of America Inc. He committed $13 million when the university established the business college in his name and gave another $5 million to RIT in 2010, part of a challenge to Saunders alumni to raise $15 million in support.

“Mr. Saunders has been an RIT supporter for many years and his name is synonymous with the high standards and mission of our business college," said Saunders College Dean dt ogilvie. "We continue to honor his passion, entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to educational opportunities for our students.”
