Sales to Singapore groups key win for Carestream

Two Singapore public health care groups, SingHealth and Eastern Health Alliance, and the Singapore Health Ministry’s IT arm, IHiS, have purchased Carestream Health Inc.’s radiology information system and picture archiving and communications system.

The equipment will help the customers have better access and management of radiology results and patient imaging data, Carestream officials said. They described the deal as a big customer win for the company.

The systems provide instant access to imaging data from any location and create one unified imaging patient file, resulting in better access to information by hospitals, specialty centers and clinics, Carestream said.

“We are honored to provide our health care IT systems to help SingHealth and EH Alliance continue as outstanding care providers to the communities they serve,” said Diana Nole, president of Digital Medical Solutions for Carestream, in a statement. “By laying a solid foundation for long-term partnerships with SingHealth, EH Alliance and IHiS, we have undertaken these landmark health care IT projects with some of the most renowned health care organizations in the Asia-Pacific region.”

To date, the Carestream systems have been rolled out in the Singapore General Hospital, KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, National Cancer Centre Singapore, National Heart Centre Singapore and SingHealth Polyclinics. The next phase of implementation, at Changi General Hospital, is slated for January.
