Total new and used car sales in Monroe County last month continued to outpace 2010 sales but fell short of June numbers, Rochester Automobile Dealers’ Association Inc. reported.
Some 3,293 new vehicles were sold in Monroe County in July, relatively flat with 3,328 in July 2010, but down nearly 8 percent from 3,573 in June. Dealers sold 1,929 used vehicles last month, up nearly 9 percent from 1,770 a year ago, but down more than 14 percent from 2,255 in June,
Dealers sold 5,222 new and used cars and trucks combined in July, up 2 percent from 5,098 in July 2010. Sales declined more than 10 percent from 5,828 in June.
Some 36,788 vehicles have been sold from January through July, up nearly 15 percent from 31,998 sold in the same period a year ago.
