RF Communications gets $7M radio order from Navy

Harris Corp.’s RF Communications division in Henrietta has received a $7 million order to supply the United States Navy with its multiband handheld radios.

The Navy is acquiring the radios as part of a modernization effort within Navy Expeditionary Combat Command, which supports naval expeditionary forces such as explosive ordinance disposal and port security forces.

George Helm, president of RF Communications’ Department of Defense business, said the radios will provide the Navy with new communications capabilities for a range of missions.

“The uniform user experience, form factor and accessories make it easy for these naval forces to adopt and employ,” Helm said.

RF Communications has roughly 2,300 workers.
