Arnot Health joins Rochester RHIO

The Rochester Regional Health Information Organization has added Elmira-based Arnot Health to its network, officials said Monday.

Arnot Health includes two Chemung County hospitals, Arnot Ogden Medical Center and St. Joseph’s Hospital in Elmira, and a Steuben County hospital and affiliated nursing home, Ira Davenport Memorial Hospital and Taylor Health Center in Bath.

Connections to Arnot Ogden are live; St. Joseph’s is expected to join the electronic health information exchange shortly, Rochester RHIO officials said.

Also known as health information exchanges, regional health information organizations, such as the Rochester RHIO, run online networks transmitting patients’ medical histories, lab results and imaging studies among physicians, hospitals and other medical providers.

The addition of Arnot Health extends the Rochester RHIO’s reach to 19 hospitals in a 13-county service area. Area radiology centers and emergency medical providers are also in the local RHIO’s network.
