Xerox Corp. on Monday released its annual global citizenship report in a letter to stakeholders.
The report looks at ways Xerox supports its customers, improves the workplace, preserves the planet and advances the community.
For example, 11 Xerox employees received fully paid leaves of absence in 2011 so they could help non-profit agencies in their communities.
Xerox chairman and CEO Ursula Burns said the company’s principle-backed practices toward sustainable innovation align with the company’s goal to help simplify the way work gets done in organizations both small and large around the world.
“Simplicity is not about scaling back or dumbing down. It’s about taking the ‘excess’ out of the process, stripping down the non-value steps that creep in, and applying technology and innovation smartly and strategically,” she wrote. “When you do that, you save not only time and money, you save precious resources and eliminate waste.”
Last month, Xerox was recognized for its commitment to corporate social responsibility. For the fifth consecutive year, Xerox was named to the FTSE4Good Index Series, a stock index that measures the performance of companies that meet globally recognized standards for corporate responsibility.
