Construction has begun on Garber Automotive Group’s pre-owned auto center in Henrietta.
The 4,400-square-foot facility is located across from Garber’s Honda store on West Henrietta Road. The project is expected to be completed in December.
Garber last year purchased several new-car franchises from John Holtz, and as part of the franchise agreements the company plans to revamp some of its stores. Building a used-car facility also was one of the company’s original plans.
Garber worked with SWBR Architects & Engineers P.C. and general contractor R-J Taylor General Contractors Inc., which does business as Taylor, the Builders, on construction of the new facility.
“Although we are new to the Rochester market our company has a 100-year tradition of selling and servicing automobiles,” said Kevin Parker, Garber general manager and managing partner, in a statement. “We are very excited to have partnered with SWBR and Taylor on the first of four or five projects.”
With its headquarters in Saginaw, Mich., Garber posts sales of more than $400 million annually and employs nearly 1,000 people.
