Summit to focus on long-term outlook for manufacturing

The long-term outlook for manufacturing will be the topic of the Metals Service Center Institute Manufacturing Summit at Rochester Institute of Technology Oct. 22.

The summit begins at 4 p.m. at RIT’s Center for Integrated Manufacturing Studies and includes a panel discussion on topics, including tax policies and reform, regulatory policies, energy policies and sustainability, trade issues and workforce development.

Panel members include Gary Keith, chief economist for M&T Bank Corp. and retired Army Maj. Gen. John Batiste, president and CEO of Klein Steel Service Inc.

The local event is one of 11 the  national Metals Service Center Institute is holding around the country.
