5LINX Enterprises Inc., ranked 94th a year ago, now is the region’s fastest-growing private company. It took the top spot on the 2012 Rochester Top 100 released today by the Rochester Business Alliance Inc. and KPMG LLC.

The Henrietta-based company employs 260, up from 200 last year and 175 in 2010 and 2009, when it ranked 14th and second, respectively.

Maris Systems Design Inc. placed second on the 2012 list. Gorbel Inc., Ramar Steel Erectors Inc. and D'Agostino General Contractors Inc. rounded out the top five.

To be eligible for the Rochester Top 100, companies must be privately held, have its headquarters in the Rochester region and have at least $1 million in annual revenues for each of three most recent fiscal years. The No. 1 company on the 2011 list, Manning & Napier Advisors Inc., went public last fall.

This year is the 26th anniversary of the Rochester Top 100. The companies on the list will be honored Nov. 1 at a gala luncheon at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center.
