Nazareth College of Rochester has set the standard for U.S. Student Fulbright award recipients this year.
The college announced it has placed in the No. 1 spot among master’s institutions on the Chronicle of Higher Education’s Top Producers of U.S. Fulbright Students list. The college tied with St. Edward’s University in Texas and the University of Portland in Oregon.
“It is an honor for the college, and a reflection of our overall academic excellence, to be a top producer of U.S. Fulbright students once again,” said Daan Braveman, Nazareth College president. “With a record-breaking number of six recipients this year and 17 awards in the past five years, Nazareth is a leader among the top colleges of our size in the country. We are very proud of our students who have taken part in the Fulbright program.”
Established by the late Sen. William Fulbright of Arkansas, the program’s objective is to build mutual understanding between the United States and the rest of the world. The program sends American students and teachers abroad and brings others from foreign countries to attend school and teach in the United States.
