Arild Remmereit to address split with RPO

Rochester Business Journal
January 7, 2013

Arild Remmereit, the ousted music director of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, will speak publicly for the first time about events that led to the orchestra’s board voting to end his contract early.

Remmereit has planned a press conference Thursday evening at the Rochester Public Library’s Gleason Auditorium, where he will address his situation and the future of the RPO.

The RPO board voted in late November to terminate Remmereit's contract at the end of the fiscal year in August 2013. Orchestra officials have not given details of the negotiations, but orchestra representatives have been meeting with Remmereit's lawyers to determine how the remainder of the fiscal year will play out.
