Arista Power receives U.S. government order

Rochester Business Journal

Arista Power Inc. said Tuesday it has received an order for a mobile renewable power station and extended support agreement from an undisclosed U.S. government agency.

The portable power station combines Arista Power's energy storage, power distribution and patent pending system controls with energy generation from solar photovoltaics. The system will be used to power communications equipment in a remote location where energy security and reliability is considered mission critical, the Rochester firm said.

Financial details were not provided.

"Our system is a preferable alternative to using diesel generators in the field and not only results in fuel savings for the U.S. government but also reduces the additional logistical cost required to provide fossil fuel to remote locations on a regular basis,” said Mark Matthews, vice president of sales and marketing, in a statement.
