Al Sigl seeks $1 in fundraising campaign

Rochester Business Journal
February 6, 2013

The Al Sigl Community of Agencies is trying a novel fundraising strategy—asking for a dollar.

The non-profit is sending more than 444,000 blue envelopes to mailboxes across the region asking for $1 donations, and envelopes will be available at various locations throughout the areas, as well.

The fundraiser, in its 23rd year, is seen as an important part of Al Sigl Center’s mission by spreading the word about its mission and programs.

“Everyone knows someone whose life has been touched by Al Sigl,” said Dan Meyers, president of Al Sigl Community of Agencies. “Yet there is so much more to accomplish to help make the ‘disabilities’ disappear and see only abilities as we strive to make Rochester the most inclusive community in America.”
