Genesee Media Corp., a media and advertising company based in Dansville, Livingston County, has agreed to acquire two Rochester-area Christian radio stations.

The company announced Thursday it will acquire WASB 1590-AM in Brockport and WRSB 1310-AM in Canandaigua from Marilyn Wolfe for the price of $450,000.

The company serves Genesee Valley, the western Finger Lakes and parts of the Southern Tier. The company also owns classic rock station WDNY 1400-AM and adult contemporary station WDNY 93.9-FM.

Genesee Media president Brian McGlynn said the addition of the two Rochester-area stations will further the company’s Upstate New York reach.

“AM radio, coupled with digital, is still very much a viable medium,” he said. “Many of the highest billing radio stations in markets across North America are on AM.”
