Former U.S. senator from Massachusetts and Fox News commentator Scott Brown has joined Nixon Peabody LLP.
Brown joins the law firm’s Boston office as counsel, Nixon Peabody officials said Monday.
Unseated by Democrat Elizabeth Warren in a close race last November, Brown gained national attention after winning a 2010 special election to fill the remainder of Democratic liberal icon Sen. Edward Kennedy’s term after Kennedy’s death from brain cancer. He was the first Republican to represent Massachusetts in the Senate since 1972.
As a senator, Brown was known as a relative moderate in an increasingly right leaning GOP.
As a Nixon Peabody attorney, he plans to focus on business and governmental affairs, concentrating largely on the financial services industry and commercial real estate.
“Scott’s ability to connect people with opportunities is an excellent fit with Nixon Peabody’s culture and strategic priorities,” Nixon Peabody CEO and managing partner Andrew Glincher said.
