Shoppers can now get a preview of the new, much-anticipated East Avenue Wegmans store set to open on May 19.

Wegmans Food Markets Inc. has dedicated a section of its website (www.wegmans.com/eastave) to the new, 87,000-square-foot store.

The website features a video tour of the interior as it nears completion and a countdown clock leading to the opening date and time. The website also features a blog by store manager Tony Carnevale.

Shoppers can update their Shoppers Club account or sign up for a card on the website. They also can apply for open positions at the store. Wegmans officials said a store map will be added to showcase the layout.

“We are putting the finishing touches in place, stocking shelves, and building displays,” Carnevale said. “To everyone who asks what the new stores is like, I say, ‘prepare to be wowed!”
