Rochester Women’s Network ‘W’ Award finalists named

The Rochester Women’s Network on Tuesday announced its finalists for the 27th “W” Award.

The award recognizes a local woman who helps other women succeed in their professional and personal lives, organizers said.

Finalists for this year’s award are:

Wanda Acevedo, chief operating officer, Wilson Commencement Park;
Marietta Avery, general manager, Monroe County Broadcasting, WDKX-FM 103.9;
Barbara Lucke, founder and executive director, Empowered Girl Alliance;
Alyce VanPatten, volunteer; and
Miranda Wilcox, founder and CEO, Thrive.

The award recipient is to be named at a May 16 event at the Woodcliff Hotel and Spa in Perinton. The event runs 6 to 8:30 p.m. and includes networking and a dinner awards ceremony.
