The Greater Rochester Enterprise Inc.’s International Business Council on Thursday honored three businesses and an individual at its annual Trade Banquet & Expo.

Advanced Language Translation, Liberty Pumps Inc. and Carestream Health Inc. were International Business Award winners, recognizing firms engaged in doing business abroad.  Robert Sands, president and CEO of Constellation Brands Inc., was named International Executive of the Year.

The event was held at the Radisson Hotel Rochester Riverside.

Advanced Language Translation was named International Service Provider of the Year. The company has seen 12 percent growth over the past year and estimates 20 percent growth next year. The company translates documents into more than 35 languages and employs more than 1,000 linguists worldwide.

The other finalists in the international service provider category were Supply Chain Services and Mohawk Global Logistics.

Liberty Pumps won in the Small International Business category. The family-owned, Bergen-based company began selling into Canada in the mid-1990s and expanded its presence internationally in 2010, when it began shipping to more than 28 countries.

The other finalists in this category were Crosman Corp. and Hammer Packaging Corp.

Carestream Health took home the Large International Business of the Year award. The worldwide provider of dental and medical imaging systems and information technology products was formed in 2007 and employs 1,250 people locally. Sales to emerging markets as a percentage of total sales for the company have increased from some 25 percent to 50 percent.

The other finalists were Seneca Foods Corp. and Zotos International Inc.

Paul Hetterich, executive vice president of business development and corporate strategy at Constellation Brands, accepted the International Executive of the Year on Sands’ behalf.

Sands and his executive team, including Hetterich, led the $4.75 billion acquisition of Grupo Modelo’s U.S. beer business.
