Six local companies have been listed among the Best Companies to Work for in New York State, a list released this week by the New York State Society for Human Resource Management.

The list, which included 60 companies, was split into large companies and small- to midsize companies.

Included among large employers, those with 250 or more employees, are three Rochester-area companies: Fibertech Networks, the Pike Company Inc. and Paychex Inc.

A trio of Fairport-based companies are listed among small to midsize employers, which cover businesses with 15 to 249 employees. Those making the list are First American Equipment Finance, HR Works Inc. and Vanteon Corp.

To be included on the list, companies had to fulfill specific registration eligibility requirements and then participate in a two-part survey of employee satisfaction and engagement, as well as submit workplace policies and practices.
