Rachel August
Executive director
Seneca Park Zoo Society
Position then: President and owner, Marketing Solutions Inc.
Current business role: I have oversight of the public relations, marketing, fundraising, visitor services, concessions and educational initiatives to support Monroe County's Seneca Park Zoo. Currently, the Zoo Society has a membership base of 18,000 families, with more than 400 volunteers and strong, involved board leadership.
Age: 50

Birthplace: Rochester
Most meaningful career-related accomplishment: I am especially proud to be one of the key people who raised funds and influenced the design of new exhibits at the zoo, including the education complex, state-of-the-art animal hospital, cougar exhibit, elephant watering hole and baboon exhibit. Because of these new exhibits, the experience for families and school children has greatly improved.
Surprising fact: I am a proud Monroe High School graduate and was a participant in the Reverse Open Enrollment Program in the late '60s. Rather than attending my neighborhood school around Cobbs Hill, I was bused to Clara Barton School No. 2 on Reynolds Street.

Director of operations
Behavioral Health Network
Rochester General Health System
Position then: Executive director, Lakeview Mental Health Services
Current business role: Responsible for operations of mental health and chemical dependency network of outpatient, inpatient and community-based services, including direct responsibility for budget and finance, facilities, information technology and support services.
