Dean Norton, a dairy farmer and agricultural consultant from Elba, Genesee County, was re-elected as president of the New York Farm Bureau during the organization’s annual meeting in Long Island, the agency announced Wednesday.

Norton is a senior agriculture consultant for Freed, Maxick & Battaglia PC in Batavia. His family dairy farm also manages a custom trucking operation for forage and commodity harvesting.

Norton has served as the state agency’s president since 2008. He will serve a two-year term.

“I am proud to have the opportunity to continue to lead this organization as we face a time of tremendous challenges in the agricultural community,” Norton said in a statement.  “It’s an opportunity to make a difference in the ability of our farms to continue into the next generation.”

In addition to Norton, Ann Peck, of Newark, Wayne County, was selected as chairman of the New York Farm Bureau Promotion and Education Committee.
