Harter Secrest & Emery LLP partner Ross Lanzafame was named chairman of the American Lung Association’s national board of directors.

Lanzafame is to serve a one-year term and work with the association’s national headquarters staff to advance the organization’s nationwide mission of saving lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease, officials said this week.

Lanzafame was a member of the association’s national board from 2006 to 2008, and its nationwide assembly from 2008 to 2011, serving as assembly speaker in 2010 and 2011. He joined
the volunteer ranks of the association more than 16 years ago with the local affiliate in Rochester.

He served as chairman of the statewide American Lung Association in New York from 2008 to 2010.
