Rochester Midland Corp. was awarded $300,000 in state funding to help pay for its purchase and renovation of a new facility in Ogden, officials announced Wednesday.

Rochester Midland consolidated its headquarters and manufacturing in the city of Rochester into a new location in western Monroe County in 2010.

The specialty chemical company is adding 16 jobs to its workforce of 175, including 78 in manufacturing, as a result of the $15.4 million move, representatives of the Empire State Development Corp. said in announcing the grant.

The ESDC offered the funding in December 2009, representatives said.
