LA Fitness International LLC expects to complete its expansion in Upstate New York by early 2013, officials said.
The company has begun work on two Rochester locations in Henrietta and Irondequoit. The other two upstate locations will be in Buffalo and Clarence.
The 41,000-square-foot Henrietta location will be located at Marketplace Drive. The 60,000 square-foot Irondequoit location will be located on East Ridge Road, just down the street from competitor Planet Fitness.
“We selected these four new sites because they’re convenient, accessible and have the capacity to accommodate all of the amenities our clubs provide—from swimming pools to basketball courts to large cardio spaces—in a comfortable, welcoming environment,” said Bill Homer, senior vice president and chief real estate officer for LA Fitness, in a statement.
LA Fitness already has been selling memberships for the new locations.
