Rochester Business Journal
August 16, 2012

The Bank of Castile has initiated plans to begin operating a branch on South Main Street in the village of Churchville at the beginning of 2013. The space currently houses a Bank of America Corp. branch.

Bank of America announced this week it will close the branch at the end of November.

The Bank of Castile has made arrangements to lease the office location, and plans to open the office in January, said James Fulmer, president and CEO.

Tompkins Financial Corp. is the Ithaca-based parent of the Bank of Castile. Bank officials have filed an application with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. and the state Banking Department.

The Bank of Castile operates a branch on Chili Avenue in Chili. Chris McCartney manages the Chili office and will manage the new Churchville location, bank officials said.

Bank of Castile operates 15 branches in Monroe, Genesee, Livingston, Wyoming and Orleans counties.
