Logical Images Inc.’s VisualDx, a comprehensive digital medical library, will be part of the Electronic Medical Assistant product of Florida-based Modernizing Medicine Inc., the Rochester company said.
A cloud-based, specialty-specific electronic medical application, the Electronic Medical Assistant will feature a dermatology aspect tapping into Logical Images’ offering.
VisualDx, which helps physicians make more informed decisions particularly with uncommon conditions, is a hyperlinked visual thesaurus of more than 1,200 der¬matology conditions represented by more than 25,000 high-resolution medical images. VisualDx captures disease variations, showing how each might look at different stages and in people of different ages and ethnicities.
Modernizing Medicine’s EMA features algorithms to improve medical decision making and information tracking, simplify billing and speed up medical documentation, officials said.
“In seconds dermatologists can access the best medical images in the world, which will help in educating patients right in the exam room,” said Art Papier M.D., CEO of Logical Images, in a statement.
Papier noted how images are key in a dermatological diagnosis; they also help establish a bond between the physician and the patient.
“It speeds practice and helps patients,” he said. “That is what busy physicians want.”
Logical Images develops visual health care tools to elevate diagnostic accuracy, enhance medical education and heighten patient knowledge.
