A handbook to help developers, businesses and residents navigate the necessary steps for a construction or rehabilitation project in Rochester is posted on the city website.
Topics include permitting procedures, code requirements, Rochester geography, utilities, infrastructure and available funding sources, city officials said this week.
Information for the handbook was provided by the professional design staff in the Bureau of Planning and Zoning’s permit office, officials said. The handbook promotes sustainable building opportunities for residents and businesses.
“The Developer Guidance Handbook is an invaluable resource that will help us provide excellent customer service to our development community,” Mayor Thomas Richards said in a release Tuesday.
“Rochester is an excellent location for real estate investment on many levels. This handbook will give investors an excellent tool to help them succeed while protecting the natural and man-made resources that make this city such a great investment.”
The handbook is interactive with links to its content and to content-related web pages on the city site.
The handbook is at www.cityofrochester.gov/planningandzoning.
