Fairport-based Monroe Roadways Inc. has been awarded the contract for site construction services of the new Ronald Rettner Hall for Media Arts and Innovation in the Wilson Quadrangle on the University of Rochester’s River Campus.
Monroe partnered with Rochester-based Bergmann Associates P.C. and Boston-based Goody Clancy & Associates Inc. for engineering and planning services on the three-story, 18,900-square-foot facility. Completion is slated for fall 2013.
“Monroe Roadways is proud to be involved in this state-of-the-art project for one of the nation’s leading private universities,” said Monroe Roadways president Jeff Taylor, in a statement. “Rettner Hall will provide students with a location focusing on the utmost importance of hands-on and collaborative student learning.”
The facility, named for new university trustee and philanthropist Rettner, is to feature an engineering fabrication lab, a multipurpose learning studio, group study areas and exhibit space. The facility also will contain sound and video recording studios, high-end computers and 3-D printers.
