Harris Corp. recognized for hiring military veterans

Rochester Business Journal
November 19, 2012

Harris Corp. has been named to list of companies that have a strong commitment to hiring military veterans published by G.I. Jobs magazine and U. S. Veterans Magazine.

For the fifth consecutive year, Harris, the parent company of RF Communications in the Rochester area, was recognized by G.I. Jobs as one of the top 100 military-friendly companies in the United States. Harris ranked No. 76. Selection was based on the strength of military recruiting efforts, the percentage of new hires with prior military service and company policies toward National Guard and Reserve service.

U.S. Veterans Magazine’s annual “Best of the Best” lists are compiled from market research, independent research, confidential employee interviews and responses to surveys. Harris was one of 100 companies recognized.

Florida-based Harris Corp. has some 15,000 employees worldwide, including 2,200 workers at its Rochester-based RF Communications division.
