Frontier Communications Corp. has partnered with fellow Stamford, Conn.-based company, Crius Energy LLC, to provide Frontier customers with green-sourced electricity.

Frontier on Tuesday announced the two companies will operate as FTR Energy Services and provide a cost-effective, clean-energy supply to customers in New York, Ohio and Indiana. The list of participating utilities companies includes Rochester Gas and Electric Corp.

Under the plan, customers will receive the same electricity services on the same bill from their current local provider. FTR Energy Services will provide affordable green energy and 5 percent cash back on the utility bill every six months.

“Clean, renewable and affordable energy is something all customers want,” said Ann Burr, president of new product trials and integration for Frontier, in a statement. “This opportunity offers consumers choice, affordable plans and the ability to help the environment by knowing their energy supply is 100 percent green.”
